About the workshop:
The course is based from international education models in nature pedagogy and forest schools and provides you with practical skills that are key elements of these programs.
The course is delivered by experienced, qualified trainers with extensive knowledge and expertise in Bush Kindy programs across Queensland and beyond. Our facilitators still work in the field and share hands on experience.
The day will cover:
The training content will provide educators with the practical knowledge and skills for nature programs. It includes resources to guide safety practices.
Content covered:
- We will explore Risk Benefit Assessments as the foundation to care for children’s health and safety.
- Educator Practical Skill sets – Using Real Tools, Fire Experiences, Tree Climbing, Ropes, Shelters.
- Explore how to meet regulations and best practice guidelines.
This course is practical and requires participants to be able to sit, bend/squat, walk and move about outdoors during the activities. The course is predominantly outdoors and for this reason, we ask participants to be prepared with appropriate wet weather gear and enclosed shoes for practical activities in the course.

Morning tea, Lunch, afternoon tea and tea/coffee provided for the day workshop.
Printed course materials and digital resources provided.
